Flexor muscles of arm. Illustration of the superficial flexor group of muscles of the forearm (antebrachium). These forearm muscles (red) originate just above the elbow joint (lower left). They end at the wrist and hand where the tendons (white) of five muscles can be seen (centre right). Working from top (in line with the thumb) the tendons belong to: the brachioradialis which flexes the elbow; the flexor (f.) carpi radialis and the palmaris longus which both flex the wrist; the f. digitorum superficialis which flexes the wrist and fingers; the f. carpi ulnaris which flexes the wrist and adducts the hand.
