The brush is powered by rechargeable batteries which are recharged by the unit at lower left. Brushing the teeth removes plaque and food particles from their surface. It should be carried out at least once a day using a fluoride toothpaste. Ideally, the toothbrush will have an easy to grip handle and soft, round-ended bristles. Toothbrushes should be rinsed after use and replaced when they become bent or frayed.
