Plastic surgery simulator. First in a series of three screen displays from the Computer Aided Plastic Surgery (CAPS) simulator. This uses a three- dimensional scan of the patient's face. The surgeon indicates where the incisions will be placed, and the program calculates how the skin will fit together after healing. The surgeon may try several alternatives before deciding on the final procedure. This system was developed by Dr Stephen Pieper of Dartmouth University, USA.
