Femoral bone. Donated head of a femur (thigh bone) in a freezer. It was removed during an operation to replace a patient's hip. It can be used in bone graft surgery, normally to reconstruct bones that are damaged through disease or injury. This bone tissue is stored at around -80 degrees Celsius.
