This tricycle was designed by the Motivation Charitable Trust, which began working in Sri Lanka in 1997 to improve the rehabilitation of people with spinal cord injuries. Part of their work included designing new chairs and modes of transport to cater for the particular needs of disabled people in Sri Lanka.
