Strawflower (Bracteantha bracteata 'Outback florabelle pink'). This plant, which is native to Australia, is a member of the daisy family (Asteraceae, formerly compositae). The strawflower flowers from spring until autumn. What look like the flower's petals are actually bracts (modified leaves), which have a straw-like texture. It is the centre of the flower that contains clusters of tiny individual flowers, or florets.
