Flowers under white light. The foliage and flowers appear in their natural colours under white light. Colour is the result of an object reflecting and absorbing different parts of the visible (light) spectrum. Only reflected light contributes to an object's colour. When white light is present, all colours are available. The green foliage reflects green light and the red flowers reflect red light. The purple flowers reflect both red and blue light, while the white flowers reflect all the colours in the spectrum. See A200/379-382 for images of these flowers under different coloured lights.
