Frontispiece of A New System of Mathematicks, Jonas Moore, (London, 1681). This book, intended for the mathematical school at Christ's Hospital, it was uncompleted on Moore's death and was finished by John Flamsteed (1646-1719) and John Perkins. It was a textbook for the boys of the school learning surveying and navigation, skills needed to aid the nation's trade and exploration. Engraving.
