Saltaire, model textile factory and town near Bradford,Yorkshire, England. Founded by Titus Salt (1803-1776) in 1851. Shops, library, etc. provided for workers, but no public house as Salt a teetotaller. Built on the Leeds and Liverpool canal for ease of transport. Hand-coloured engraving.
