John Wesley Hardin escaped out a hotel window in his long-johns to avoid arrest by Wild Bill Hickok in 1871. Hardin had shot through a wall to silence a snoring man and 'accidently' killed him. Hardin leaped from the roof and hid in a haystack for the rest of the night, before stealing a horse to return to Texas.
