Wilson's petrel (Oceanites oceanicus), 19th century artwork. This seabird spends most of the year at sea in the southern hemisphere, feeding in flight on plankton at the water's surface. It breeds on Antarctic islands during the southern summer, and moves northwards into the northern hemisphere to avoid the southern winter. Artwork printed in 1866.
