Model of a Soyuz TMA docked to the International Space Station (ISS). This is the spacecraft used to take crew members to and from the ISS, and a Soyuz spacecraft is attached to the space station at all times for emergency evacuations. A Soyuz TMA has a crew of three, and is 7.48 metres long and 2.72 metres wide. The ISS, which has been under construction since 1998 and manned since 2000, is a joint project between the space agencies of the USA, Europe, Russia, Japan and Canada.
