Gliocladium roseum. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of hyphae of the fungus Gliocladium roseum. This fungus was discovered in the rainforests of Patagonia, where it lives within the ulmo tree (Eucryphia cordifolia). It has been found to produce a number of different hydrocarbons from the digestion of cellulose and has potential for use in the production of biodiesel.
