Giant redwood trees (Sequoia sempervirens). View looking up the trunks of the trees to the foliage far above. This evergreen conifer is the world's tallest species of tree, reaching 100 metres in height. Some individuals may live to an age of 2500 years, but most are likely to topple over before they die of old age. Photographed in Redwood National Park, California, USA.
