A fine early Coptic wall mural depicting an angel, which came from the ancient Christian monastery of Faras, founded in 707AD. A team of Polish experts saved the murals from this monastery before the site was submerged by Lake Nasser after the completion of Egypt's Aswan High Dam. A selection of murals now hangs in Sudan's National Museum in Khartoum.
