Stone Balbals or tomb markers, Western Turk, 6th to 8th century, Balasagun. The Balbals at Balasagun have been collected from sites all over Kyrgyzstan. Balbal grave markers were once erected by nomadic Turks above the graves of their companions to designate how many of the enemy the occupant had slain.
