Australia, Northern Territory, Alice Springs. Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve was established in 1872 to relay messages between Darwin and Adelaide, and marks the original site of the first European settlement in Alice Springs. Protected as an historical reserve in 1963, the restored stone buildings contain 19th century artefacts, as well as interpretative displays on the history of the area.
