Coal tit (Parus ater). The coal tit is widespread throughout Europe, Asia and northern Africa. The birds tend not to migrate. They can be 10-11.5 cm in length, with a large white spot on its otherwise black head. The underparts are yellowish-white, and the back and wings olive and black with white wingbars.
