Glaucous gull (Larus hyperboreus). This gull scavenges for food particularly from fishing boats. It also hunts prey, such as small birds in flight. It breeds on Arctic, north Atlantic coasts and northern European coasts, but migrates to winter in the northern USA and the UK. Photographed in Svalbard, in the Arctic.
