White peacock (Pavo cristatus) fanning out its feathers during a courtship display. White peacocks are mutations of the common or Indian peacock. Peacock 'tail feathers' are not part of the tail itself, but are actually upper tail coverts. Only males have these feathers that are used for courtship displays. This bird is native to India and Sri Lanka, although it is widely domesticated throughout the world. Photographed in March.
