Florida gar (Lepisosteus platyrhincus). This freshwater fish is found in eastern and peninsular Florida. It can reach up to 76 centimetres in length and feed on fish, shrimp and crayfish. It survives in poorly oxygenated water by breathing air through an air bladder. Photographed in Florida, USA.
