Fraunhofer telescope. This is a type of refractor telescope named after the German optician and glassmaker Joseph von Fraunhofer (1787-1826). The diagrams also show lamps and micrometers whose design is named after him. This equipment was designed for the Dorpat Observatory in Estonia. This artwork was published in 1828 in the book Introduction to Practical Astronomy, written by the Reverend William Pearson.
