Metatarsal bones in th mid-foot link the phalanges to the tarsal bones. The tarsal bones include the calcaneus bone (heel, right) and the talus (left). These bones articulate with the lower leg bones, the fibula (upper right) and tibia (shin bone, gupper centre), to form the ankle.
