Lola ya Bonobo (Bonobo Paradise) Sanctuary in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The sanctuary was founded in 1994 by Claudine Andre to help protect the bonobo (Pan paniscus), which is endemic to the Congo. It is considered to be the most endangered of the great apes. It is threatened by loss of habitat, the bush meat and live primate trade.
