Tyrannosaurus rex bones. Fossilised Tyrannosaurus rex (T-rex) chevron bones (bones from the underside of the tail). These bones are part of a near complete T-rex skeleton being refurbished by Phil Fraley Productions, USA. The dinosaur skeleton is taken apart, bone by bone, and, after renovation and refurbishment, will be re-mounted as a new display at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. The original T-rex exhibit was mounted over 100 years ago in a posture that is now thought to be incorrect. The new display will feature the T rex skeleton posed as if fighting over a fresh kill. Photographed in 2007.
