The Dust Bowl was a series of droughts and dust storms in the USA in the 1930s that forced agricultural families to migrate in search of jobs and food. 500,000 Americans were made homeless by the effects of the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. Taken by US photographer Arthur Rothstein (1915-1985), this photograph is from a collection obtained by the Resettlement Administration between 1935 and 1937.
